Competing in groups of eight, sixty-four contestants will be systematically eliminated to eight remaining finalists over the course of 8 days.

Starting on Friday, March 19th 2010 eight acts will be showcased daily with two shows on Friday March 26th, Saturday March 20th, and Saturday March 27th 2010 at 7:30pm and 10:30pm. Finals will be held on Sunday, March 28th, when the $25,000 grand prize will be awarded to the Yuk Yuk’s Great Canadian Laugh-Off Champion.

Comics can apply on-line in the following categories:

Canadian Amateur American Amateur
Canadian Professional American Professional
International Amateur International Professional

Randomly by computer we will choose:
8 Canadian Amateurs
8 Canadian Professional
8 International Amateurs
8 American Amateur
8 American Professional
8 International Professional

Canadian winners of the Yuk Yuk's Local Laugh Offs will be determined through competitions at the Yuk Yuk's Clubs across Canada prior to the Toronto finals. Mini Laugh Offs will be hosted by each of the fourteen Canadian Yuk Yuk's clubs to determine their delegates to send to the finals.

All Comics will do 10 minutes DURING the playoffs. Winners from the playoffs will then compete for a second time in the semi finals on Friday MARCH 26TH and Saturday MARCH 27TH with two shows each night at 7:30pm and 10:30pm. Two winners from each show will be selected, totaling 8 winners. The 8 winners from the semi finals will then have 15 minutes each for the finals. Material must be original, accurately timed, performed in English and can be repeated.

This contest is open to anyone except residents of Quebec, regardless of their sense of humour and how they spell it.
