Yuk Yuk's Great Canadian Laugh Off is open to all stand-up comics regardless of citizenship, residency and skill level except for residents of Quebec. You can enter in as many of the following categories for which you qualify:

Canadian Amateur

A Canadian citizen or landed immigrant who earns less than $1000/year from comedy. Contestants from this category will be randomly selected by computer draw.

Canadian Professional

A Canadian citizen or landed immigrant who earns more than $1000/year from comedy. Contestants must be able to document this claim as proof will be required. Contestants from this category will be randomly selected by computer draw.

Local Laugh Off Winners

Yuk Yuk’s clubs across the country have conducted Local Laugh Off competitions. The winner of these competitions have won a spot to compete in Yuk Yuk’s Great Canadian Laugh Off. This is the only category where contestants are not determined by random computer draw.

International Amateur

A citizen or landed immigrant of any country other than Canada who earns less than the equivalent of $1000 Canadian per year from comedy. Contestants from this category will be randomly selected by computer draw.

International Elite

A citizen or landed immigrant of any country other than Canada who earns greater than equivalent of $1000 Canadian per year from comedy. Contestant must be able to document this claim as proof will be required. Contestants from this category will be randomly selected by computer draw.

All Remaining Comics

This category is open to all comics regardless of citizenship, residency and skill level. All entrants will be automatically entered into this “lucky draw” category. Contestants for this category will be randomly selected by computer draw.
